Where do we come from?
In a small Tanzanian village, where children’s laughter blended with the rustling of acacia trees, a young woman named Upendo dreamed of a better future for her community. She saw children struggling for quality education, youth searching for meaningful work, and the land suffering from neglect. She knew change was possible—but she needed a spark to ignite it.
Thousands of miles away, in Germany, Mr. Marcus, an expert in education, psychology, and sociology, had spent his life mentoring young minds. His passion for community development led him on a journey to , where fate brought him to Upendo. They spoke of challenges, dreams, and possibilities. Their conversations planted the seed of an idea—an initiative that would empower communities through education (Elimu), work opportunities (Kazi), and environmental care (Mazingira).
Together, they founded JEKMA: Jamii, Elimu, Kazi, Mazingira. From a simple vision, it became a movement. Schools were built, vocational training centers flourished, and reforestation projects brought new life to barren lands.
Upendo and Marcus, from different worlds, had created something timeless—a bridge between knowledge and action, between dreams and reality.
Today, JEKMA continues to grow, transforming lives through education, opportunity, and sustainability. What started as a conversation has become a legacy—one that proves true change begins when people unite for a common purpose.
