Waste Management Project – Mwika Village

At Jekma, we believe in shaping a cleaner, greener future through education. Our school-based Waste Management Project in Mwika Village focused on promoting environmental sustainability and responsible waste handling among students and teachers.

What we did:

• Introduced waste segregation, recycling, and composting practices.

• Distributed 26 Dust bins for bio, paper, plastic, and glass waste.

• Formed school waste management clubs to lead ongoing activities.

Impact so far:

• Trained 450 students and 15 teachers across 4 primary schools and 1 secondary school.

• Improved cleanliness and learning environments in schools.

• Increased awareness of recycling and waste reduction.

• Empowered students as ambassadors of environmental care in their communities
